Descendants of James Wedmore in Dorset

The genealogy and family history of the Wedmore family from Dorset and Wiltshire in England.   Some of the family emigrated to Victoria in Australia, and now a large part of the family is found there.   Another branch went to America.   Finally, below is a family which has not been fitted into the picture (p1319).
The following table is in sections by generation.   The chart is read from left to right with the earliest generation at the left and the eldest children at the top.   Numbered links to the next section are shown to the right if there are more descendants.   The numbers themselves have no significance, other than their position in the entire Stone family tree.   At the top of each section to the left is a numbered link to the earlier generations, where applicable.

This family has a number of unanswered questions.   William and Sarah were married June to September 1874.  Ellen (Helen) was born March to June 1875 about nine months later and baptised in June.  Alfred was born about 1877, which fits well in terms of date, but his birth was not registered.  [It now appears that his name is indexed as Wetmore - was it registered that way?].  Another child Emily or Mary was born September to December 1878, but died aged one year.  In the 1881 census the couple are not together, William is in Gloucester as a boarder with Sophia Aldrige  and described as a labourer, unmarried!!.  Sarah, however, was in Holdenhurst, Hampshire, described as laundress, married, with her son Alfred, aged 4; but Helen was in The Union Workhouse, Blandford as a pauper aged 6, not with the family.  People are shown as Living where I am unsure, please send corrections.
